Maintaining the utmost focus while driving is important. We always want to arrive at our next destination safely, and it’s harder to do when we are distracted by our cellular devices. Here are some solutions to minimize using your phone while driving:
Do Not Disturb or Silent Mode
It is understandable that there are days when people try to reach you via phone by showing you a popular post they saw on social media. The thing is, spending any amount of time on your phone while driving can quickly become dangerous. Plus, you don’t want to risk your European vehicle hitting another vehicle.
Before starting your car, put your phone in silent mode. If you have an iOS phone, you can put it on “Do Not Disturb.” There is also another setting to let others know your phone is on “Do Not Disturb” before they send you a text message.
For an extra safe option: turn your “Do Not Disturb While Driving” setting on for iOS 11 or later. That setting automatically ensures that you do not receive any notifications while driving. The people who try to contact you while you are behind the wheel can only reach you if it is an emergency. If you absolutely need to contact someone, just turn on your Bluetooth and give that person a call.
Phone Mounts
There are phone mounts that you can place on your dash or window to make it easier for you to look at when you need to use the navigation system to arrive somewhere. What also makes them an even better option is that they can be placed somewhere at eye level so you won’t have to lower your head constantly, making it easier to keep your eyes on the road.
With phone mounts, you won’t have to worry about holding your phone so you can have both hands on the steering wheel. When you know you are driving to an unfamiliar area, map your route before driving to ensure a safer trip.
Have a Playlist Ready to go
Jamming out to good music with friends or even alone is always fun when you are on the road in your European vehicle, but what can make it hectic is skipping song after song to find the perfect tune to match the vibe.
Choose a playlist before hitting the road and make sure it is a good one because you don’t want to be distracted by the temptation of skipping any songs.
